(More customer reviews)I was looking for a "backup" microphone set for a conference, just in case my primary set failed. At this price I figured I couldn't go wrong, but yes you can.
A few things I didn't see documented before I bought it: The back has a single XLR output with a mix of the four microphones or individual 1/4" jacks. Each microphone is on a dedicated frequency with no adjustments in case of interference. Each mic has its own gain control on the front, but they all needed to be cranked up near full to get much of a signal out of it. One of the hand held microphones is useless - holding it more than 2 inches from your mouth produces no signal. The only way it works is if you literally touch it to your lips while talking. The other hand held doesn't do that. The hand held mics look like very cheap toys
I had looked around on line for a copy of the manual but couldn't find it. Once I got the manual I realized why: it is complete gibberish. Here is an example from the "Introduction" section:
"The novelty, high quality and stability product made our productgain the reputations among our customers all over the world. In another face our product can be used with the hand-held and the lapel at the same time, that is very free."
On a positive note, the two lavalier mics sound OK (not great, but usable) and I'll keep it as my backup system. The unit also comes in a carrying case that will make transporting easier.
In short, only buy this if you absolutely can't afford a better solution, or if you want it as a backup system. I would not trust this as a primary microphone system.
