(More customer reviews)I ordered this item for a speaker at a podium. I didn't realize my mixer didn't have it's own phantom power (which this mic needs) but that was fixed by buying a small phantom power box. Just be sure your system can power this mic or do what I did.
For the actual product itself, I have to say it works very well. The sound is crisp and clear. The quality is very good in fact. It doesn't feel flimsy or cheap at all. The manufacturers website has this item for $189, if you can get it on sale on Amazon it's a steal.
The microphone is a condenser cardioid mic, which means it isn't truly unidirectional in its sound pick-up because it's sensitivity pattern is heart-shaped. So sometimes it may pick up some sounds from more than 1 direction. This can be nice for a speaker who can't stand still, not nice if other real loud sounds are happening too closely. Turning down the mic volume and turning up the master can overcome this, and I haven't noticed it damaging sound quality very much.
Overall 4 stars, it does everything it's supposed to do for the price. 5 stars would be if it did it for a lot less :)
