This mic has some unusual characteristics that some users will either like or hate. First, it is heavier than the average mic in its class, at around 10 ozs. It has an unusual anti-slip silicone rubber coating that is helpful if your mic hand is unusually sweaty. Otherwise, it just tends to attract and hold dust, lint, or other detritus, and makes it harder to attach and detach the mic from the mic clip.
The ball screen features a pale green rubber ring that likewise attracts dirt and makes it difficult to slide the mic in and out of the included bag, or fit & remove foam windscreens. The ball screen is unusual in that unlike those of other mics, the screen is not formed from finish-coated wire that is weaved and formed. Rather the finish on the Q6 ball screen seems to be cheap aluminum paint sprayed onto the part at the end of the manufacturing process. The paint job looks amateurish, and pieces of aluminum-painted lint and dust were evident upon close inspection of the screen surface.
Sound-wise, this mic has a super-cardioid pattern, which is a little more "pointy" towards the front than the more common cardioid pattern. Also, its sensitivity of -50dBV/Pa means it gives a higher output that the Nady SP-4C (-76dB) or Behringer XM8500 (-70dB). But I found the shock-mounting of the mic element to be less effective than that used in the Nady or Behringer; in other words, the Q6 has more handling noise. Despite the frequency response plot of the Q6 given in the data sheet, I found a definite bass enhancement of vocals. Those who desire less coloration, or a more natural clear sound should go for the Nady or Behringer instead. But the Q6 is heavily built and is fine for everyday workhorse use for PA, etc., where the shape of the transfer function matters a lot less.
