(More customer reviews)My sisters and I had gotten this for our mom for Christmas. She LOVES karaoke, but isn't very tech-saavy. So being able to just leave the mic plugged into the tv would have made it very easy for her to use. I also like the fact that it has so many songs built into it. I was surprised to see some fairly new songs like Five for Fighting's 100 Years. Buying karaoke CDs gets pretty expensive after awhile.
My complaints: NONE of the songs on built in or on the bonus holiday song chip had voice assist. It doesn't really make sense to boast about having a voice assist function and not be able to use it for ANY songs. You'd have to buy a different song chip. We looked around because we really wanted to be able to keep the mic, but we found that even the chips that have vocal assist songs only had about 20 out of 2000 songs that actually had vocal assist option. And my mom refuses to sing without vocal assist. It makes it pretty hard to sing unfamiliar songs. Also, you're able to make your voice that comes out of the tv sound like male or female. We tried this out and chipmunk sounds came out of the tv. Honestly, we don't have chipmunk voices.
I was very impressed with the customer service, though. They were very understanding and helped tremendously.
