(More customer reviews)I used it with my camcorder attaching the Hosa transformer to my camcorder's mic jack, then to the XLR cable and the XLR cable to a Sennheiser 835 vocal microphone. My primary use will be recording vocal solos for audition DVDs and it worked great on my initial test recording. I thoroughly researched how to input a quality external vocal microphone that uses XLR like the Sennheiser into my camcorder's 3.5 mic jack. The options for converting 3.5 to XLR go up to several 100 dollar converters. With those options compared to this under $20 option ($12.99 on amazon I think which was the best price by 3-5 dollars), you scratch your head and wonder if it's too good to be true. Well it worked perfectly for my application.
