(More customer reviews)I visited the Shure website, searched their FAQ's, and found one specific to my situation. All I wanted to do was record live music to my computer through the sound card. There was a question that exactly matched my requirements and the answer was this transformer/interface. This allows me to use a boom-mounted microphone and hook the XLR cable to my computer. Right now I'm using the 'sound recorder' in Windows XP, but my next computer, presently in the works, will have a sound card and more sophisticated recording software.
