I am an experienced videographer and this Nady SGM-12 is absolutely the worst shotgun microphone I've ever tested. I'm sending mine back immediately. I tried two (2) fresh batteries and two (2) high quality XLR cables and the signal from this microphone is practically inaudible. Maybe I got a defective microphone. I suspect, however, that the performance of this microphone is simply a reflection of the price. To be honest, the one I just finished testing is not worth $5 let alone $40. You've been warned.
