I was amazed at how sensitive that mic is when directly connected to my boom mic stand - the merest graze of the mic stand resulted in very loud booms. This shockmount reduces that sensitivity greatly, but not 100%. You still want to be careful to minimize handling of the mic stand while recording.
Packaging was very minimal - the mount was in a bubble-wrap bag with a sticker identifying the contents. Looked like it came from a bulk package. This is fine with me - I hate it when things are overpackaged.
Two extra of the stretchy cords are included, which was a nice touch. But they are basically ponytail hair ties and can probably be replaced with such.
