(More customer reviews)NCH WavePad 1-Star Review: I just purchased this program in it's current updated version for the third time! BEWARE if you think this program is READY FOR PRIME TIME, so-to-speak. That was my problem ... I tried the free version and got used to it's interface (not a quick-and-easy thing) and liked it a lot. I purchased several other audio programs from NCH also, some with no problems, but at least one other NCH audio programs made me feel like life hated me just a wee bit. I wasn't buying it for my personal use, but for a non-profit organization which trusted me to look around and purchase the software that would be best.
But I didn't understand that I would have problems downstream. After all, the free version worked ok until it expired, right? So why shouldn't the full paid version? But it did not. So - in order to upgrade to a version with fewer bugs (supposedly), I had to pay for an upgrade. NOT the full purchase price all over again - no, I wouldn't have done that ... and NCH knows that! So they get you again and again for the cost of the newest current version.
I was only using NCH Wave Pad on Microsoft systems (Vista and Windows XP). I do not personally have any experience using it on MAC, but I just read one by an individual who also gave it a 1 star review and who also says "you can do better elsewhere". I saw this on Amazon.
I really HATE to feel like I MUST give a very negative review, and I tried over and over to try to get the folks at NCH customer service to comprehend the situation (including, but NOT LIMITED TO, the fact that I was coming to them on behalf of a non-profit org. involved for decades in feeding the hungry, caring for starving orphans, etc. but that made absolutely no difference to them).
Maybe one of the problems was my 64-bit system, but I cannot understand how that was an issue since I tried using 32-bit compatibility mode. I had purchased a very expensive extended technical service with the programs I bought and they were pretty helpful until that expired. After that, they might answer your customer service email after 3 weeks-or-so, or maybe never.
Anyway, hope you fare much better than either me or the Mac owner did. Good luck!
