(More customer reviews)This wireless microphone system was very good while it lasted. The sound was clear with no noise, The range was very good. But within a few months of light use (once a week for a few hours) things started going wrong.
The picture is not accurate with regard to the microphone. There is a rubber antenna that sticks out of the bottom. It was only a few months use that it began to loosen and eventually came off. Underneath the rubber is a spring that was loose at the base. No amount of pushing or twisting could keep the rubber sleeve from sliding off.
The next problem was with the battery compartment. After a few months the batteries would not connect to one another inside the unit, causing it to not have enough energy to run. Eventually, we discovered a small folded piece of paper jammed against the batteries inside the compartment would solve the problem, but this was short lived. When it came time to replace the batteries, re-aligning the bit of paper was a major pain.
I called Pyle and immediately spoke to a human (!) but she quickly referred me to an automated system. They want us to pay for the shipping back to the factory, AND pay for the shipping to return it to us! To add insult to injury, there was no guarantee that they would either fix it or replace it after we sent it back!
The last issue is that there is no way to purchase just a replacement microphone. One has to pay for the entire set, or one does without.
I went to Radio Shack and bought a more expensive, but more reliable set.
