(More customer reviews)I've recently completed my first professional Voice Over demo. The studio did a fantastic job (and I didn't do too bad myself). On the down side, I had nothing at home to remotely approximate the quality of that studio production. I read numerous reviews on mics in my price range and was leaning toward the Rode NTS-1A. I'm sure I would have been happy with that choice as well. The VO:1-A had the endorsement of a trusted name in VO going for it, with a solid guarantee and the Micport Pro USB preamp to boot. I've also added a pair of Rokit 6 monitors to my home studio. Consequently the sound I'm producing at home is amazingly close to my demo, minus the background music and special effects. My next move is to purchase good sound editing software and build a small sound booth. This purchase was not only perfect for me but perfectly affordable. The Micport Pro does an excellent job for it's size and the only caution I would offer is that it does have a tendency to get quite warm. So I try not to use it for too long at any one session. This may very well be normal but it bugs me. Later on I plan on stepping up to the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra for expanded capabilities. I hope that doesn't come across as too negative because the truth is I couldn't be happier.
