After installing the pickup (which I would state is not a 'user friendly' process best left to the professionals), test recordings yielded a very clear, articulate and natural sound. Tested with a Martin 000-28EC, played the system through a Fishman SA220 Solo Amp, and found the unit resists feedback well, again yielding a full sound with exceptional volume and clarity. The only feedback I encountered was of the higher-register variety when the treble was set too high on the Fishman. Easily corrected and the sound remained stellar.
There is a hint of coloration in the lower-mid spectrum but it is not always audible. This can probably be adjusted by using the attached "blend" pot (located on the small volume control, requires a jeweler's screwdriver to access). The idea is the the Element tackles low frequencies, the Tru-Mic the rest. Mostly I just hear the detail and organic quality of my guitar, without feedback. Amazing!
On the whole, I think this is a leap forward in Mic technology for acoustic guitar, and for acoustic guitar amplification in general.
I have used the iBeam Active and Para DI in the past with excellent results, and I believe this system is comparable and even better and cutting through the mix with it's top-end clarity. I have used the K&K Trinity with mic, and the Fishman Rare Earth Blend with wic, and the Anthem SL is miles ahead of those systems.
