(More customer reviews)I use this product several times a week to record meetings at the work place. Not only does it significantly reduce background noise through acoustic beam forming and active noise reduction, but it enhances the speech of anybody talking into it. Most microphone arrays I considered were at least 5 times the size and 3 times the price. The coolest thing about this mic is that it has two little spring clips on the back which can be attached to either the front or the back of a laptop/flat panel LCD screen. I tested it on both the front and back of the computer screen and it works the same either way. Brilliant! It also works really well from a distance of a meter or so, which cannot be said for other mic more expensive mics. I want to try it with my new TV which has skype on it.
I gave this microphone 5 stars because it packed so much technology into such a small product and for a very comparable price. It works with just about any sampling frequency although I believe 16kHz is best for speech amd I've had not problems on other computer platforms (vista, XP, Mac OSX). The CrispMic requires virtually no set up, just plug it in and use it.
I was initially confused by the button function since it has a power symbol on it, but after I figured it out, it's no problem. Just read the short easy to follow user manual and voila! The stand is nice, but since I have a laptop, I just clip it right to my Macbook. I think this would also be great with Dragon Naturally Speaking software.
