I had a different clutch-operated microphone stand from Ultimate Support, and after a few months the clutch began to slip a little bit, meaning that if I put my hands on the mic while I sang and pressed down a little bit, the stand would lower until I stopped pressing down on it. This one seems much sturdier, however, and I don't believe I'll have this problem again. The clutch mechanism is entirely different on this stand than on the other one, and seems much "snappier" and precise on this stand. So, to sum it up, high-quality stand with a really outstanding clutch to easily and quickly control the height.
